Ways to Combat Dry Skin!
Tips to fight dry skin during those cold winter months.....
We tend to drink less water in the winter months when we should be drinking more. Water rids the body and skin of toxins. I can personally say that my skin has a more radiant glow when I'm drinking lots of water. Find a method to your madness and get to drinking! Keep that skin hydrated and fresh!
Extra, Extra Moisturizer...
Add a little extra moisturizer to your morning and evening self-care routine. Our shea butter-based body butters are perfect for providing deep moisture. High concentrations of fatty acids and vitamins make shea butter ideal for deeply nourishing and softening the skin. Shea butter also has anti-inflammatory and healing properties. Using shea butter on your body, and face, can condition, tone, and soothe your skin.
Lukewarm showers, only.
When showering, use lukewarm water instead of hot water. Cold water doesn't effectively remove the daily grime, hot water may irritate and dry out your skin. Warm water helps loosen the dirt, but preserves your skin's natural hydrating oils.
Invest in a humidifier!
A humidifier is necessary in the winter, as heated air from a furnace is quite dry. Because dry air does not retain heat effectively, adding water vapor from a humidifier balances the humidity, makes the air seem warmer, and keeps your skin from becoming dry and itchy. I cannot stress how helpful my humidifier has been with my eczema flare-ups--keeping the redness and itchiness to a minimum. Target, Amazon, and Walmart carry inexpensive humidifiers--treat yourself to one!
